About the Spot Challenge

  • You can check your equipment in with us and enjoy the show when you are not shooting
  • You can shoot for fun, compete for in trophy or money classes
  • Top qualifier from each day in each class advance to the finals 
  • Top qualifying finalists are notified by phone from event officials
  • Finals take place on the second Saturday and Sunday, with times depending on the class you are shoot
  • Shoot as many qualifying rounds as you would like (you must pay for each round you shoot)
  • Each round consists of 30 shots
  • It takes about 1 hour to complete a round (depends on if line is full)
  • We suggest you pre-register, but walk-ins are welcome
  • Binoculars are allowed

GAOS Spot Challenge Class Rules

Cubs (Ages 12 & Under)

  • Compound, recurve or longbow with no restriction on sights, stabilizers or style of release.

Male Youth (Ages 13 - 17)

  • Compound, recurve or longbow with no restriction on sights, stabilizers or style of release.

Female Youth (Ages 13 - 17)

  • Compound, recurve or longbow with no restriction on sights, stabilizers or style of release.

Bow Hunter

  • Compound, recurve or longbow with or without sights.
  • Any style of release, release aids are permitted.
  • In the case of physical disability of the arms or hands, a chew strap may be used in place of fingers or release aids.
  • If a sight is used, it will have a maximum of 5 fixed pins without a lens or magnification.
  • Sighting reference points, string peeps and/or kisser button may not be moved during a round.
  • Scopes and clickers are not allowed.
  • A round or oval housing around the point or points of reference is not considered a scope when no lens is used.
  • No additional pin guard may be used.
  • An aperture type sight must have a point of reference within the housing.
  • Sights may not be adjusted after the start of a round. 
  • A level mounted anywhere will be legal in this style of shooting, provided that there are no additional marks or blemishes on either of these items that could be used for sightings.

Women’s Open

  • Compound, recurve or longbow with no restriction on sights, stabilizers or style of release.

Men’s Open

  • Compound, recurve or longbow with no restriction on sights, stabilizers or style of release.

Senior’s (Ages 50 – 59)

  • Compound, recurve or longbow with no restriction on sights, stabilizers or style of release.

Master’s (Ages 60+)

  • Compound, recurve or longbow with no restriction on sights, stabilizers or style of release.

Open Money

  • Compound, recurve or longbow with no restriction on sights, stabilizers or style of release.
