Raptors Up Close: Birds of Prey - The Ultimate Hunters

Howard and Jason Caldwell, a father/son team, are both licensed to handle and possess live birds of prey. Ministers by trade, they are licensed master falconers, raptor educators, federal banders, raptor propagators and permitted for abatement services with raptors. They have done programming for a simple birthday party all the way up to the prestigious Smithsonian Institute. They have a combined raptor experience of over 45 years. They are proud members of the North American Falconers Association, the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators, the Potomac Falconers Association and founding members of the West Virginia Falconry Club.

This customized seminar will illustrate the many aspects of raptors, introducing different species native to the area, their biology and raptor’s relationship to humans, past and present.  The topic of falconry, which is hunting with a bird of prey, will be the primary focus.  How to man, train and hunt with raptors are all included in the program.  Learn what makes birds of prey the ultimate hunters.
